INVITATION LETTER
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
it is a great honor and a true pleasure for us to invite you, on behalf
of the National Organizing Committee,
to the 11th International Congress on Oral Cancer (ICOOC), that will
be held in Grado, Italy, between the
14th and the 17th May 2006.
Starting from the wonderful 20 years experience gathered in the ten
previous ICOOC Congresses, which
were successfully held in India, Japan, The Netherlands, United Kingdom,
Australia, Brazil and Greece with
delegates participation from nearly 100 countries, we are now engaged
in organizing a rich and interdisciplinary
Congress with the intent to discuss about all the different specialistic
problems involved in oral
cancer.
Oral oncology has been taking long and important steps forward during
these last few years: not only surgical
and combined therapy, but also basic biology, histopathology, diagnostic
approach, reconstruction
and rehabilitation, nursing care and ethics showed extensive new knowledge
and advances which are
now forcing all the professionals to brush their knowledge up costantly.
Moreover, scientifical and ethical
evolutions are now leading to a new way of approaching oral cancer,
not only by an extensive multidisciplinary
approach and teamwork, but also on a patient-oriented base.
We hope that the 11th ICOOC will be a valued chance to increase, stimulate
and update the awareness
of the multidisciplinarity and inclusive approach in oral oncology
and we hope that a great number of
Colleagues and Friends will join us in this conference.
Grado with its outskirts offers a lot for rest and recreation and
represents an added value to the scientific
dimension of the conference. Its blue sea and golden beach, its historical
background, its archeological
and artistic treasures, its oeno-gastronomical traditions, its closeness
to the “magic” city of Venice will surely
attract and delight all participants during recreational moments.
We have already started our organization work to offer You not only
a successful 11th International Congress on Oral Cancer, but also
a wonderful touristic experience in one of the most appreciated Italian
Regions.
We hope that the wonderful mix of a rich scientific program and a
tempting touristic offer will attract you to the 11th ICOOC.
We are looking forward to welcoming You in Grado.
With warmest regards,
Honorary Chairman
Prof. Fausto Badellino
